Film Review: Andy Warhol’s “Blood for Dracula” (1974)

Udo Kier plays a dying Count Dracula in need of virgin blood, and time is running out! Dracula and his assistant leave the castle and travel to Italy to find a virgin bride. The duo meet a family with four daughters, all supposedly pure, and are invited to stay in their mansion until Dracula picks out his bride. One by one, The Count begins to find that they are not who they seem. Interesting film and bizarre take on the Bram Stoker character. There’s a brutal and intense scene in which Dracula consumes tainted blood and violently vomits it up. Udo is mesmerizing in the role. Overall a unique film!
